SPECIMEN BOOKLET ——
INTRODUCTION
This is a small booklet used to display a font, the booklet includes cover, regular page and small inserts. For the font of booklet, I choose Montserrat. The booklet needs to display Montserrat fonts with different sizes, weights and styles. The text content of the booklet is the novel "Naked Lunch". I need to select key words, sentences and paragraphs from the novel as the text content of the booklet. The illustrations and color parts were made in Photoshop based on the content of the novel.
LAYOUT SKETCH
This book is a booklet based on the novel "Naked Lunch", so determined the overall color scheme of my booklet and the content of the illustrations based on the addict's description of the drug in Naked Lunch: "syrup", "sweet", etc. This is my draft typography based on the content of the book.
COLOR AND ILLUSTRATIONS
In Naked Lunch, the addict's world is very psychedelic, with many strange creatures appearing. In his world, drugs are like sugar. He described the drugs as syrups and sweets and indulged in them. So I search some pictures of the syrup and cake and distorted and recolored them in photoshop, to show the addict' s world.
